August 2025 Newsletter

August (and July) back in the olden days was a family time to vacation. Many of us went to the shore (beach out here), or to the mountains. Some of us summered at second family homes on nearby lakes. But it was a time of spending quality time with family and rejuvenating for when the world got busy again…in September.

Let me take the liberty here to include a just returned vacation photo of a down-the-lazy river innertube adventure with my extended family…in a former sluice stream, formerly used by sugar cane growers on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai…the Garden Island.

And, who can guess who this fellow classmate is? No prize, but the satisfaction that you haven’t yet completely lost your memory!

Two classmates commented how pleased they were that we had located an online Memories ’56 and could again see fellow alums. If you misplaced that link, here it is again: https://archive.org/details/1956BHSYearbook

Since July 1, we’ve heard from Armond D’Agostino, Bob Delezenski, Kay McCormick, Ray Bergeron, Cynthia DiDonato, David Mead, Anne Lavery, Ann Zimmerman, Bob Alvine and Wally Riker.

Our next Zoom reunion, which is Friday, October 3, at 3 pm east coast time, when we have asked current shop teacher, Mike McCoppen to tell us what those options are today. Wally Riker makes this part very easy for us!
