Bio – Howard Friedman ‘59

Howard graduated from BHS in 1959.  He played football, ran track and threw the javelin. In 2019, Howard was inducted into the BHS Hall of Fame.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Seton Hall University.  As a financial executive with several large corporations, Howard learned the necessity of cooperation and teamwork, along with the value of knowledge, and experienced the frustrations of being part of a structured business environment.

Howard’s foray as a real estate entrepreneur was certainly not an instant success but progressed from commercial property brokerage to real estate development and in due course, real estate investment. This allowed him to have flexibility with his time and the opportunity to be involved in a few sponsorships.

Howard shared his passion for weight training and fitness with many of Bloomfield’s finest student athletes. He often remarks that the gratification one gets from seeing the efforts of these kids rewarded and knowing that you played a small part in their success is exhilarating.

Howard credits his accomplishments with the love and support of his wife Ruth, his children, Sharon, Susan and Rick and the most wonderful gifts of all, his grandchildren Gianna, Ricky, Michael, Alexa and Nicholas.
